“Why We Created AeroGolfTee”
Share
On a sunny weekend, I went to play golf with my 16-year-old son. While we were playing, my son asked why all golf tees have either prongs on the head or a tiny head. I explained that it was probably to minimize friction between the golf ball and the tee.
Then, around the final hole, he asked, "What if we create an air pocket between the golf ball and the tee that can push the ball off the tee without prongs or a tiny head?" I responded, "Great!" without fully understanding what he was trying to explain.
A few days later, he came to me with some drawings to explain how it works, along with aerodynamic calculations to back up his concept. The idea is that if we can make a tee that uses airflow coming from the club face, the tee wouldn't need prongs or a tiny head.
So, we decided to start our journey to create the Aero Tee based on this concept.
